Bob Foley has been doing agility for approximately 4
years with his oversized toy poodle Asa. He has a solid foundation in
operant conditioning as applied to animal training. Among other things,
he has successfully completed two intensive workshops, sometimes
referred to as "Chicken Camp 1 and 2", taught by Bob Bailey, who is
considered one of the world's most knowledgeable and experienced animal
trainers.
Asa appeared on The David Letterman show, in the July
2003 issue of Vanity Fair, and has a role in Tim Burton's movie "Big
Fish," which will be released at the end of 2003.
Asa has numerous agility titles and accomplishments.
She won the eastern regional and finished third in the finals of the
2002 Purina Incredible Dog Challenge. In the spring of 2003, Asa
competed at AKC's invitational tryouts for one of the four small dog
spots on the world team, which represented the U.S. in the world
championships in France; Asa came in eighth place overall. In the Fall
of 2003 at the Cynosport World Games, Asa was one of the few dogs that
made it to the finals of both the $10,000 Steeplechase and the Grand
Prix World Championship, and took sixth place in the Grand Prix World
Championships. Asa also made it to the finals and took eleventh place in
the AKC nationals in agility.
