My first agility competition was
in 1996 with my All-American, Rikki. We had been training in agility for
one year before that competition and I was already hooked. I have been
interested in ethology and applied animal behavior since I was very
young. Agility has given me a chance to blend my love for animal
behavior with the thrill of competition. I currently have the pleasure
of working and competing with my dogs Rikki, Papillon Emmett, and border
collies Nimble and Remedy.
As a member of APDT (Association
of Pet Dog Trainers), I enrich my knowledge with training seminars,
camps and conferences as often as possible. I have been with Sirius Dog
Agility Training Center since the beginning as a student and I am proud
to contribute my skills as an instructor to the next generation of
agility stars. Thank you John, Jan and Meryl for your insight and
determination to give Atlanta a training center dedicated to excellence.
One can learn a lot
when wandering through this wilderness with an animal friend,
particularly if one lets oneself be guided by its tastes and interests.
